Hemant brings with him more than 33 years of operational, management and consulting experience in the Indian power generation space having served NTPC limited, CLP India (now APRAAVA Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of CLP Holdings HongKong) including onsite /offsite consulting assignments with Hitachi consulting, BCG, Mckinsey and A&M. Hemant is a mechanical Engineer from Thapar Institute of Engg & Technology, Patiala and also holds an MBA in Finance and a PG Diploma in Environmental consultancy services.

He brings over 15 years of professional experience across the private sector and academia, including tenures at Quatrro Global Services Pvt. Ltd. (in association with JPMorgan Chase) and IIT Delhi (TRIPP & CERCA). He holds an MBA in IT & Finance from Subharti University, Meerut, and a Diploma in Software Engineering (3 years), specializing in Information Technology, from NIIT. His areas of expertise include Operations Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analysis, Web & Creative Design, and Fraud Risk Mitigation. This diverse skill set enables him to effectively support the coordination and administrative functions of the committee, bridging technical, operational, and strategic domains.

He specializes in taking machine learning systems out of notebooks and into production. Backed by an M.Tech in Data Science from IIT Guwahati and a background in applied mathematics, he builds scalable deep learning solutions for complex, high-stakes challenges. Currently, he develops end-to-end deep learning pipelines for real-time air quality anomaly detection.
