Prof. K. K. Pant is currently Chair Professor of Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries (FIPI, Petrotech) and Head of the Chemical Engineering department at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His research contribution involves a wide range of innovative studies covering both theoretical and experimental aspects of heterogeneous catalysis for hydrocarbon conversion, bioenergy and value-added chemicals production. His research work on waste to energy and metal recovery from spent catalysts, natural gas, hydrogen generation, chemicals & fuel production from biomass, natural gas to higher hydrocarbons, natural gas conversion to olefins and aromatics, coal to methanol production, plastic valorization and paraffin isomerization is duly recognized across the scientific community. Prof. Pant has guided 22 PhDs, published 155+ journal articles and 8 patents with >8500 citations (h-index 45, i-10 index 102) on heterogeneous green catalysis. His research group has received more than INR 400 million from various national and international organizations. Prof. Pant is fellow of INAE (FNAE), FRSC (UK), Institution of Engineers India (IE(I), and Biotech Research Society India(BRSI). Prof. Pant has been invited visiting Professor at Auburn University, USA, University of Tuskegee, USA, UTAH, University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Fraunhofer UMSICHT, Germany, and Aston Univ. U. K. Presently, he is an Adjunct faculty at University of Saskatchewan, Canada, University of Queensland Australia and guiding several joint PhD students under the UQIDAR program of IITD-UQ. Prof. Pant has been conferred CHEMCON distinguished speaker (CDS) award in 2019, Herdilia Award by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2017, three times Dr. A. V. Rama Rao award for best PhD supervised and Dr. S. S. Deshpande Award and many other honors. He is expert member of several board of academic and research organizations such as IIP Dehradun, ONGC, PCRA, GAIL, IOCL R&D, BPCL and many other national and international universities. He has guest edited various journals of international repute - American Chemical Society Journal “Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research”, Springer’s “Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery”, two books in Springer nature specifically dedicated to bio-renewable energy and chemicals production. .
