PROF. JAY DHARIWAL
Prof. Jay Dhariwal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Design, IIT Delhi. He is an alumnus of IIT Guwahati, Purdue University in USA and IIT Bombay. He did a couple of Post docs from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and University of Leeds, UK. He has a background in mechatronics and is interested to develop low cost sensing setups for outdoor air quality. He has worked in the area of outdoor thermal comfort using urban micro-climate modeling and Wi-Fi data as a proxy for occupant behavior during his Post doc at MIT.
PROF. BAHNI RAY
Dr. Bahni Ray is working on the mitigation techniques for air pollution. Her research in clean air area includes understanding fuel/ spray atomization, aerosol- fluid interaction, vehicle and dust interaction and their dispersion. She is alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur. Before joining IIT Delhi, she worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at Johns Hopkins University and City college of New York, USA.
PROF. NEETU SINGH
Neetu Singh obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees from University of Mumbai, after which she moved to USA to perform doctoral work in chemistry with Prof. Andrew Lyon at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. At Georgia Tech, she worked on developing novel synthetic routes towards the design of multifunctional hydrogel nanoparticles. Following her PhD, she moved to Cambridge, MA to pursue her postdoctoral studies at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology with Prof. Sangeeta Bhatia. In the Bhatia laboratory, her research efforts were focused on developing nanomaterials for achieving and investigating RNAi therapy.
DR. NEZAMUDDIN
Dr Nezamuddin knew that engineering was the profession he would like to done, but had no clue on the IITs. It was only after he went to Aligarh Muslim University for his plus two that he got to know about the academic excellence of IITs and the tough exam that one had to clear to get a seat in one of the institutes. Unfazed by his failure at his first attempt at the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), he took to self-study and with some help from his friend, cracked the exam in the second attempt. In 1999, he joined civil engineering in IIT Delhi.
DR. DEBABARATA DASGUPTA
Dr. Debabarata Dasgupta is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi. He received his B.E. from Jadavpur University and his M.S. and PhD from IIT Kharagpur. His
research interests lie in the area of microfluidics and microscale transport processes, computational fluid dynamics, multiphase transport, transport in multi-scale systems, and areas related to healthcare and air-pollution. In air-pollution, his research is focussed on two areas:
(a) towards unveiling the deleterious effects of air pollution on health and
(b) towards the development of technologies for mitigating air pollution using various techniques such as using electrically charged droplet and by particle agglomeration strategies to enhance the capture efficiency.
DR. ANSHU BHARDWAJ
A former member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) (1992) Sh Anshu Bhardwaj worked for the Government of Karnataka in various capacities. Some of the notable areas where he served in the government include implementing rural development schemes in housing, education and rural energy; law and order maintenance, providing relief in natural calamities, and conducting State and National elections. Sh Bhardwaj resigned from the IAS in 2007 to establish Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP), a non-profit Think Tank based in Bangalore. Sh Bhardwaj has deep understanding of technology, economics and policy aspects of energy and environmental systems which includes clean energy technologies (energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage) and their applications in industry, transport, power sectors including understanding of climate policy options in a carbon constrained world. He has expertise in various computational and modelling tools for enriching policy analysis and research, including neural networks for data analysis and other applications. Sh Anshu Bhardwaj completed his Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur (1985-1989) and MBA from IIM Kolkata in 1989 – 1991. He also completed his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, US.
Dr. SRI HARSHA KOTA
Dr. Sri Harsha Kota is Chair professor at the Arun Duggal Centre of Excellence for Research in Climate Change and Air Pollution (CERCA). He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from CBIT, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India in 2007. He received his Master of Science and Doctoral degrees from Texas A&M University, College Station, USA in 2014.
He worked as an Assistant Professor in IIT Guwahati for more than three years, till he joined IIT Delhi in May 2018. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Delhi.
PROF. YAMA DIXIT
Dr Yama Dixit received her BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Hansraj College, Delhi University and Masters degrees in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She received a PhD degree from University of Cambridge, UK as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, following which she was at IFREMER, France as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral fellow and then was a Research Fellow at the Earth Observatory of Singapore. She joined as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT Delhi in October 2021
